I'm not sure what either actor was thinking of when they took these roles. This film could have been fun, could have been in line with alot of other fun supernatural films/tv series. Instead, it's just...blah. It's not really funny which is disappointing since it stars a comedic actor like Will Ferrell. It doesn't demonstrate Kidman's acting ability as she comes off as exactly what her character initially was supposed to on the tv show within a film...a breathy airheaded sidekick. This film can't even rank among other insipid formulaic romances. It's fun I suppose if you're in the mood for some nose twitching but other than that...well...don't bother. One plus is the soundtrack. Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby make anything a little better.

I found some of this movie entertaining, but to go so far as to say that it was written well or had something special to it? No, can't do.
I will say that Nicole Kidman is as good as she normally is. Will Ferrel, hum, see below. But the two of them as love interests? It's a hard pill to take. The chemistry between them is almost invisible, so thin that it could be ions across. Scratch off Romance.
As for the Comedy...hum...it misses something that other Ferrel vehicles have. Eureka! It's missing Will! Or that is to say, it's missing his zany 'characters' whom gives him so much life. In Bewitched he is some kind of middle land, between straight actor and comedy genius. This is stall zone and doesn't work.
Good date movie...absolutely. Cute, tries to be charming, relaxed, and sometimes funny. Just because I didn't feel it doesn't mean that cuddled up with my Love on the sofa 'we' won't feel it.

Although I found it hard to believe that Nicole Kidman would star in a bad film, I had read so many criticisms about "Bewitched" that I half expected a disappointment, but was instead treated to a good surprise. My memories from the TV show dating back to a good ten/fifteen years ago, I was glad to relive the uplifting enjoyment of it. I found the movie charmingly entertaining, the “mise-en-abime� providing some hilarious moments of Hollywood satire. Nicole Kidman was positively delightful, and the only thing I didn’t quite get was the choice of Will Ferrell for the part of Jack Wyatt, aka Darrin. Granted, Darrin in the original series was never an inspirational character, but he was never as bland and lackluster (in my humble opinion). At one point he actually tells Isabel Bigelow, aka Samantha, that she could have any man in the world. So why did she choose him? I definitely asked myself the same question. To put it in a nutshell, as is often the case in romantic comedies (but usually not in Nora Ephron's), the comedy part in "Bewitched" turned out just a little bit better than the romance part...
