This movie is way under-rated. I thought it was pretty good. Johnny was funny. I also loved the vallian. Dr. Doom is cool. It isn't as good as Daredevil, but it's still worth a watch.

One of my favorite comic books when I was a kid is brought to the big screen and it did not disappoint me. I feel they did a very good job with the casting and even the Thing didn't look too bad even though he wasn't CGI. I got a kick out of the fighting between Michael Chiklis and Chris Evan's characters (The Thing and The Human Torch). This film is a little less dark than some of the more recent hero movies and is safe for the real young kids.

The action of the movie was great and the humor of Chris Evans is great. Jessica Alba looks great. and i thought the movie was a decent make of the comic book

This movie is the start of a new league of superheroes. Very decent, having their first encounter with their powers to the climatic battle against Doctor Doom.

Before I start- I wanted to enjoy this, I really did. You see, I watch the movies out of two main reasons – entertainment and handsome/cute/hot guys. If I want to know something about life or become thoughtful, I read books. Therefore, before seeing F4, I turned off and any needless brain cells and decided to watch this from a POV of my inner child. As it turned out, even a 13 years old boy with self-esteem problems thought it was horrible. For the first time in years we both agreed on something.

Reason number 1: Because Dr. Doom killed the plot. So where is it? The plot I mean. The movie is so boring at times that watching the paint dry is a welcomed change. Actually, half of the movie I spent praying for a power shortage or a disaster or a skunks stampede, ANYTHING to give me a reason not to watch (leaving was not an option, I paid to see it and I respect my money).

The beginning gives us no time to get use to the characters or the climate of the movie. At the time I thought it was good, that they simply have no time for unnecessary blabbering and want to show as much action as possible. Oh, how wrong I was! Talking, babbling, speaking, chattering and giving speeches is all they do. I’d say, that, as for an action movie, there is not enough action to fill a Teletubbies' episode. Every member of the cast has at least One Big and Important Speech That Goes Right Into Your Soul (see also Reason number 2 and 3), either is it about friendship, love, self-esteem or the flavor of ice-creams.

The ending is a story on its own. It’s like the writers had concentrated on dialogues (the amount, not the quality) and forgotten that this thing has to end one day. The Great Writer shouted ‘Stop! Ok, thanks guys! See Ya!’ and they left it as it was. Call Mulder! It's a time paradox, the movie ends before it begins!

Reason number 2: Because Sue is American Woman and it shows. There is only one way to explain this movie- Americans. With all that hostility that is going on against them around the world, with all that Iraq and Bush someone thought: ‘ok, we’ll make the movie that would be so patriotic that even Uncle Sam would blush.’ The bridge scene... I won’t give spoilers but come on! The bridge scene! ‘He’s a hero!’ I did miss The Brave American Army... but instead I got The Brave American Firefighters and The Brave American Policemen. I have nothing against Americans, actually, I feel sorry that THIS is what Hollywood thinks they want to see when it comes to patriotism. 7 years old? Perhaps. Adults? If the answer is ‘yes’ then I’m starting to be afraid. Be very afraid.

Reason number 3: Because Reed stole Ben’s eyebrows Every time I saw one of the main characters I expected them to fall down and reveal itself to be a cut from a cardboard. Every one of the F4 and of course Dr. Doom is an archetype: Johnny is a careless prankster, Reed is a perfect leader, devoted to both his team and his researches, Ben is an angsting but loyal friend, Victor is, well, evil and Sue… eeerm… Sue… hm… she’s… a woman, I guess. Ok, does anyone know any good reason for Sue to be there except for ‘cos she had to’ and ‘cos Reed is suppose to marry her’?

Btw- was it really such a HUGE problem to give The Thing his eyebrows? His trademarked eyebrows? His famous eyebrows?

Summarizing: if you are a brave, american solider, a masochist or like hot, young guys in spandex watch it, if you are anyone else- avoid at any cost.

THERE IS however one good way to make this movie berable - immedietelly after that watch "Rise..." and treat it only as the first part of a one movie. It works much better this way.
