Tommy (Jan-Michael Vincent) is on a 6-month suspension from the Merchant Marines; he is forced to spend the summer in the slums of NYC. There he meets the beautiful Marsha (Theresa Saldana). Marsha falls in love with Tommy; she wants him to stay, and get married. But Tommy, who has some run-ins with a local gang, only wants to get assigned to another ship and leave. Tommy has to decide whether to keep traveling all his life, or settle down with Marsha.
