I wasn't really sure what to expect with the Medallion, a Jackie Chan movie, but I was a little surprised that it wasn't completely bad as I first thought.

The Medallion stars Jackie Chan as a police detective, Eddie Yang, who is on the pursuit of an international criminal known as Snakehead. Snakehead is after a medallion that has the ability to grant a person immortality and super human strength. But there is a catch, before a person can be granted these powers, they have to die. The medallion is in the safe keeping of a young boy who can control the power of the medallion, thus giving the powers to people. Yet it seems he always has to resurrect people once they die. Anyway, Yang (Chan) drowns while saving the boy, and is resurrected, thus gaining super human strength, and the same happens to Snakehead, although he kills himself on purpose to obtain the powers. This, of course leads to the two of them meeting for a final showdown. Also starring is Lee Evans, as Chan's goofy sidekick, and Claire Forlani as Chan's love interest.

As typical in most Chan movies that aren't made in Asia, the acting can be a little on the bad side. But luckily, for The Medallion, the acting is actually quite decent, even if most of the movie is somewhat on the goofy side. Talking about goofy, Lee Evans does a great job at providing the comedy.

With that aside, what really holds the film down is the lack of martial arts, and other action scenes, and in some cases these action scenes are a little too short for their own good. Also, while I did say the movie is goofy, at times it can be too goofy for its own good.

Overall, The Medallion is a decent movie that doesn't do anything wrong, but doesn't do anything great. If you're a fan of Jackie Chan, then it's worth a watch, otherwise, don't bother.
