The memorable first version of James Hilton's legendary novel about Shangri-La and the secret of eternal youth. Produced and directed by the great Frank Capra, the film is a masterpiece of fantasy with almost flawless casting, direction and music. Robert Riskin did a marvellous job adapting Hilton's novel. It's about four people who are trying to escape from a revolution in India. They are kidnapped and taken by plane to an idyllic civilisation hidden in a mysterious Tibetan valley.
