Hard to judge this as art, but it is. Histoire d'O is a different book, as it is written by a woman. This had upset the bulk of all female critics and therefor written as something to be shunned. Judged by most of them as 'filth'. The movie does partially follow the book, but loses itself to some extend, as it tries to hide or soften parts of the book. Corine plays good, and as she has the body of a godess leaves the impression of desire quita capable on the screen, making most men hearts jump of excitement. the filming and background are excellently done, but the softening view of the director declines this movie into some soft art result. I think that if the book had been followed to the gephical letter, then this would have become the adult cult movie of the century. A harsh light on forbidden fruits.
