Just after the second world war, a young man, travels to Germany to help rebuild the country, by way of the rails. But, he finds that life in the dawning new era isn't quite as concrete as he would expect.
This is more art than film. It may take a couple of sitting to really get the feeling of desperation and betrayal our hero must endure.
The acting is very good, but it's really the surrealistic approach of the films story that makes this movie good. The dark sadness, the interesting V.O. The slow turning of the tracks and the demanding needs of those our hero gets himself involved with.
