Probably the best of the Tracy/Hepburn "equal partners" movies, there is a lot here that does harken to modern marriage relationships. There are still sticking points, Hepburn seems to have to move further while Spencer Tracy sulks. It gets story justification in that Hepburn adopts a Greek boy out of job responsibility.

I like the somewhat more leisurely dialog than some romantic comedies and William Bendix does a fine supporting job. As the films move through the years, Hepburn looses some of the softness that makes her endearing. As it is in this movie, her character is impossibly smart as usual, but like "Philadelphia Story" - her faults and the intelligent convoluted compromises seem to make the movie sing.
