Ginger Snaps Unleashed is one of those rare sequels that vastly improves on the first while keeping parts of the original's feel. Unlike the campy occasionally humorous Ginger Snaps, Unleashed is a very dark film following the surviving sister from the first film in a struggle to contain her disease while being stalked by another werewolf. Ultimately, she finds herself confined in a psychiatric ward where she befriends a strange little girl and a scumbag attendant before both her disease and the chasing werewolf begin to catch up with her. The whole movie has a very storybook feel to it and a particularly twisted ending.

Amazingly good follow-up to the stunning first.

Amazingly good follow-up to the stunning first.
Ginger Snaps took the new movement of werewolf fiction (from the mid to late-90's) and put the basic themes and ideas on to the screen... in this follow-up we enter an even darker world where Brigitte fights not only to keep her sanity, but her humanity as she slowly becomes more minimalistic... Ghost is possiably one of the best characters in series and i hope to see the Character return in some medium... Also, I like how Brigitte would see the "ghost" of her dead sister Ginger similar to protagonist in Landis' "American Werewolf in London" seeing the ghosts of his victims... interesting play on the established concept.

This movie was pretty good. I really did not expect how it would have ended.

It was a wierd movie but great none the less.
