The Pianist Leaves no-one untouched. Roman Polonski´s masterpiece is one ofthe best in the genre and can bee seen as a modern classic. The directing by Polonski is superb. You can tell he knows what it was like during the time and some shots are stunning. There is for example one scene after he escapes from the train and walks on the street filled with dead bodies, it´s simply amazing, so as you understand the cinematagrophy is superb as well. The acting is allso very very good. The one that sticks out most is of cource Adrien Brodys oscar winning performance as Wladyslaw Szpilman, The succesful Pianist who is forced to survive in a town where the nazi´s have taken over. The script is well written as well, Polonski has as I said probably taken a lot of scenes from his own experience in the war. The Pianist is probably the most realistic version of the wart that i´ve seen. Polonski unlike other dictors shows that there where no heroes in the war. And the people that survived was simply lucky. The Pianist is a realistic, brutal, and touching story that you just have to see.

One of the greatest movies I have ever watched! The story is just perfect, makes you so sad but also makes you smile sometimes....
