When artist Richard Nugent gives a lecture at a high school, a student, Susan Turner develops an instant crush, and believes she's in love with him. Earlier that day, Richard had appeared as a defendant in the court of Maragret Turner, Susan's older sister and legal guardian. After a misunderstanding when Susan went to Richard's apartment thinking he wanted her to pose for him, Richard is arrested. Margaret and Susan's uncle, Dr. Matt Beemish (court psychiatrist), has a plan, however: charges against Richard will be dropped if he dates Susan until her infatuation with him wears off. Hilarity ensues.
