Shia annoys me as much as the next guy, but thinking about the indiana series, I think he might be a great actor to be in one of the films. In each of the movies it seems there is a quirky character to add a little comic relief (Willie and Short Round in temple of doom, Indy's father in last crusade), and I wonder if Shia will be that character in this movie.

What do you think - will he be perfect for this movie?

I think he will because he worked with spielberg (?) in transformers and he was pretty good in that, so it all might work out.

As someone who has liked most of the movies I've seen him in, I think after Transformers the 'sidekick' role might be a bit of a step down. Not that I don't think he can do it, I just don't really see why he would. Except for having "Was in Indiana Jones 4" on his resume.

Well it's good to hear that not everybody thinks he will do a horrible job in the movie.

He ain't no Short Round...now thats a sidekick.

Seriously, why not bring back Data? It makes perfect sense.

If they were going to bring anyone back it should of been Shortround and Sallah. But i'm fine with Shia being in it, and i wouldn't really say he was the Sidekick, Ray Winstone is the sidekick, Shia will likely be the comic relief or Indianas son who happens to be funny...

Shia LaBeouf is a pansy. If they are preening him to be the successor to Harrison Ford and inheritor of the Jones legacy they'll at least need to find a way to CG a few grizzled whiskers on his chin.

If he acts like he did in Transformers, he'll do fine. What we should be worried about is Ford. I mean, he's pretty old, but I've seen videos of him cracking that famous whip. Hopefully he won't brake his back or something like that.

I've only ever seen him in Holes. He did quite good in that so it'll be interesting to see how he does in this title.

    It was Michael Bay.

All Spielberg did was pay for it!

It's not that he is running really fast, but that THERE IS A GIANT BOULDER RUNNING AFTER HIM!!!!!

I hope he's more than comic relief. I don't quite know what to expect of him from this movie but I do konw he's still relatively young and is becoming a more versatile actor. He just needs some time to get good at it.

okay no offense but seriously...wow he's not that bad.

i've been watching shia since he was on even stevens and i pegged him from the start of that show as the comedian. but seeing him in such terrific movies...and being playing dramatic well...i was pleasently surprised by him. while this movie took a direction i didn't see and didn't really like i still overall think he did really well.

I do not like Shia La Beouf and I really think he was the wrong choice as a star in Indiana Jones 4.

I just saw the movie and i don't think Shia is soo bad as Indy's son!

That character remind me,in some ways, the young Indiana Jones of the show, played by Sean Patrik Flannery(was that his name!?)...

Shia's been a good choice, after all!

After seeing the movie, I didn't see what was the big deal about him in the role.

Sure, he wasn't very emotional, but he sure did the action scenes very well.
