Warner Bros. was originally aiming for an October 17th, 2003 release date, but they have now bumped it up a week to October 10th. (6/23/03) Moving Mystic River to the 10th, Warner Bros. has returned this movie to its original October 17th target. (7/28/03) Well, after bumping this movie all around October, Warner Bros. has now decided to just push back six months (!) to April 9th, 2004 instead. I guess if you're already tired of those trailers showing in theaters, you've got a long, long haul in store. The producers haven't actually announced a title for this sequel yet, so it's very possible the final film will be called something other than "The Whole Nine Yards 2." The logical guess might be.... "The Whole Ten Yards"? (10/15/02) It appears that for now they're sticking with just 'The Whole Nine Yards 2.' (10/28/02) Did I just not totally peg it? Sure enough, the title of this project is now 'The Whole Ten Yards.' This is the sequel to the 2000 comedy, The Whole Nine Yards, which wasn't a massive hit. However, when its $57.2 million U.S. take was compared to its slim $24 million budget, it was considered a success, and hence, Franchise is willing to foot the bill on a sequel. This movie follows the continuing wacky misadventures of a hitman, Jimmy the Tulip (Willis), who lives next door to a mild-mannered dentist, Oz (Perry). Following the events of 'The Whole Nine Yards,' Oz is now married to Jimmy's ex-wife, Cynthia (Henstridge), and Jimmy is married to Oz's former dental assistant (and hit woman), Jill St. Claire (Peet), and Jimmy has dropped the hitman persona to be more of a family man. Nick has to seek the hitman help of Jimmy and Jill, however, when Cynthia is kidnapped by the Hungarian mob (she was also held hostage in the first movie), which includes Lazlo (Pollak), the brother of Yanni from the first movie. Production started on December 9th, 2002 in Los Angeles (the original film was shot in Montreal), and wrapped up in February, 2003.
