I found this movie to be great... and very quotable... my friends, husband and I find ourselves quoting it ... Nice family movie.

In a year of CGI funny animal films (not unlike the Penguin film period that came after it), This one comes out on top for the overall pacage it brings to the table. Funny, heartwarming and pulls everything off well.

Over The Hedge starts out with a racoon Named R.J who wants to eat some food.In the very beggining it shows R.J trying to get a bag from a machine. He plans to get some from a Bear Cave.R.J steels the Bears wagon from the cave.Now,The bear wants R.J to give him his food back in 6 Days or he will kill him.

And then,It shows the animals waking up from Hibernation, Including Verne(Turtle),Hammy(Squirrel)Stella(Skunk)and more.Then Hammy spots a bush Nothing was there ya think,There was a lady with a house.

Then,When R.J comes he tells the animals why they heard the lady.During hibernation they build a new nieghborhood called The Suburbs.

During on,The animals steal the food from the houses,But It gets into trouble the President of The Suburbs.Calls a sterminator to kill the animals for here welcome to the neighborhood party.

Now,Verne plans to return the food to the houses.But when R.J trys to stop him he did it anyway.Now everyone was disapointed in Verne they left him behind.

Soon,R.J plans to get some food without steping in the lasers.But,The lady in the house wakes up finds the animals in her house.

Then the animals(Except R.J)Got put into cages so they can kill the animals.R.J comes to the rescue and saves the animals from being killed

At the end they invite R.J to the family and Stellas new friend.

Watch this movie it is family fun

Some of you might have read my film review of Open Season (2006) where I gave it a 4 out of 5 because of its humor that not only for little kids, but for teens, adults, and seniors. This year (2007), I watched a movie made last year called OVER THE HEDGE. Although the beginning might seem like a kids movie that older people would ignore, later on it gets funnier and the fun never stops (without counting the emotional and hugging parts). Its clever in that it takes a satiric look on suburbia and consumerism. The movie makes you see the world through the eyes of an animal. One of its satires is when a person says "Its okay I can talk to you on my cell, I'm just driving." Another satire is when one of the animals say "We (animals) eat to live, but they (humans) live to eat!". That animal then gives out a fast-paced but very funny speech and rundown of how humans eat. For example, when a person is excersing the animal says "This is when a person loses their guilt of eating so they can eat more!" The characters are so cute especially Steve Carell's whose name is Hammy (the Squirrel). One character is a dog who you think is a mean dog you find in most movies but turns out to be a cute and 'playful' dog. In fact, he's so playful that his only quote in the film is "Play? *with a smile*" There's action scenes that are so cool, mind-boggling, and will make you laugh as the madness goes on. I can't explain how many jokes are in the film cause there's so many that the movie hardly gave me a dull moment.

There are so many quotes of the film that will make you laugh so hard but I really don't want to ruin them all. The animation is also so perfect and the cast (well Carell, Willis, Shanding, Shatner, Skyes) is great. The movie for all ages is right here and is in fact VERY FUNNY. However, there were many characters that some were undeveloped as much as I would have liked. Overall, I give it a... (check rating)

As good as Madagascar! I loved both movies so much, and hopefully they'll come out with more! Hammy was so cute, and it didn't have penguins in it, like about 5 other movies have. I wonder if they'll come out with a sequel....

  Over The Hedge stands out as genuinely witty and even a little barbed. Its chipper, sneering outsider's look at suburban sprawl and conformity isn't going to change the world, but it's still self-aware enough to be reasonably smart.
