I really enjoy most movies that are inspired by true stories and this one did not disappoint me. Radio was well written and acted and unlike many of these types of movies it ended very positive. I thought showing the real Radio at the end of the movie only proved to improve the film. Cuba Gooding Jr. brought another excellent performance. Definitely a movie to watch with the family.

Inspired and true stories has been one of the most compelling and heartbreaking stories out there, they are mostly, tear jerkers and sometimes yet funny. Mike Tollin made that well of a story based upon a true story. Radio is a compelling and heartbreaking story that will make you, laugh, cheer and cry at times.

Inspired by a true story, Radio takes place in Hanna, where we was introduced by a illiterate, mentally-challenged man ,Radio (Cuba Gooding Jr.) who got nicknamed by the interest of Radios. Who before that had always get bullied and teased upon the community. Now, he stumbled upon a football field, where a high school football coach, Harold Jones (Ed Harris) try to inspire him into coaching in football. Although his friendship raises some eyebows at start, James Robert Kennedy's (Gooding) growth under the coach's guidance ultimately inspires the local's townsfolk. From 1964, when he first starts helping the Hanna Yellow Jackets football team, through a 38+ career with the school that continues today. Radio will always be in our hearts.

While the actors are amazing and done the performance pretty well to make it authenic as ever was, the story is just very heartbreaking and just compelling. One of the most heartbreaking scene is where Radio (Gooding) gets arrested and thrown in jail to his mom, having a heartattack and got deceased, its just really sad. Most of the critics disagreed and says its a very manipulative, but the critics are just wrong about that. The Soundtrack of this good movie delivers well to the heartbreaking story, to the good times to the sorrow and grief. Overall, Radio is just one of the most influential movies ever since, the plot is just emotional and compelling, and the performance was pretty well excuted. Fans should purchase the dvd and enjoy this movie to the last. Also people choosing a emotional, football movie should pick this also. The is a recommend titled and will be one of our hearts forever.

The story is very emotional. When Radio's mother died, I almost cried. I highly recommend this movie for sports fans and people who like emotional movies. 4 1/2 stars.

Radio is a true story about a mentally ill man, James Robert Kennedy (aka Radio), trying to live his life. Along the way he comes across a football coach who teaches him a lot of things. The story is well written and Cuba Gooding Jr was great. I saw this movie a total of two times and every time I watched it, I was amazed by the way they executed the story. Overall, if you want to watch a good movie that is somewhat of a tearjerker Radio is the movie for you.
