Witty and incredibly sarcastic dark comedy about the U.S. foreign affairs. Between the idiocy of the nuclear threat in the age of the cold war and the stupid people (politicians) behind it, Stanley Kubrick mercilessly spares nothing and no one. The choice of a completely black-and-white movie adds even more strength to the message. Peter Sellers' Doctor Strangelove is not only memorable, but also enigmatic (again, the fact that the movie is black-and-white makes him even more inhumanly cold and weird). George C. Scott is also perfect as General 'Buck' Turgidson.
The final scene montage of exploding nuclear bombs with the song We'll meet again, is amongst the most memorable endings ever. "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!" This dark comedy may not please many people today, so used we are to punch-line comedy, but I certainly love this.

The directing is great, Stanly Kubrick is after all one of the best directors of all time. The acting (especialy from Sellers) is superb. The Only thing that bugs me is the wierd ending.

"Own It - The greatest dark comedy of all time and an incredible satire of the Cold War."

Fantastic from start to finish. Kubrick, his cast, and crew, paint an unforgettable picture of the endless insanity of the Cold War. Peter Sellers flawlessly pulls of three separate characters. This film also marks James Earl Jones first role. The moody, black almost film noir look echoes the dry wit and bleak pessimistic humor. It's so well done it makes it sad that Kubrick only did this one straight comedy.
