One of the most overlooked film noirs, undeservedly.
This film was excellent, it had good direction, a good, suspenseful and intelligent story, very dark actually and made an interesting critic about how Hollywood had (and now has more) the tendency of making bad films looking to get just money.
But what makes this film outstanding is the terrific performance of Humphrey Bogart, you know, the guy was a beast on screen (one of the best performances of Bogart, and that speaks volumes because he is an elite actor), he actually convinced me he was a psychotic and unpredictible man, I even thought he was the killer, I guess that's one of the reasons this film is that good, is not only the question if he did it or not, is the question that if he's trustworthy enough to NOT do it.
This is a jewel that should be back from oblivion, it depends on you, re-discover it.
