Rocky is argually, one of most best series out there. It impacted us all, the drama, humour and such. The emotional impact that the series left us is just impressive. It's not a concidence that the series was that long, rivaling other series. The Rocky series has been parodied and imitated but it still stands out to be remarkable and intriguing as could be.

Syvlester Stallone did the screenplay and written this movie as well as directed the next movie until Rocky 5. The contribution, Stallone gave us, is just great. He created the Rocky universe in heart and it proves. It just impressive that Stallone produced a emotional and yet humourous storyline about a boxer trying to strieve on his life and how he wants to prove everyone that he exists. Rocky leads a simple life, he boxes for money and pays debts from a loanshark, just to make a living. One day, he stumbles upon Adrien, a shy woman that Rocky wants to date her because she looks beautiful. Wanting a personal trainer, he seeks Mickey(Burgess Meredith) to train him into boxing and Rocky has got the spirit for it. Much because Mickey always says to avoid Adrien so that he could concentrate on boxing. One of the successful boxers and heavy weight champion, Apollo Creed decided to staged a fight in Philapeldia where Rocky lives and wanting to take on any boxer. He stumbles upon Rocky whose got a interesting codenamed: The Italian Stallion gotten from a boxer that Rocky looks up to (posted in his home). One day, a manager from boxing contacts Rocky and convince him to fight Apollo Creed because his name was interesting to Apollo. And Rocky agrees, soon Paulie(Paul Young) lets Rocky to train in his meat factory and so the montage begins... After that montage, Rocky faces off Apollo Creed and wins because the strength of Adrien's spirit.

The match between Rocky and Apollo was interesting, back in that year because a boxer whom gotten a montage and then as he gotten beaten up, he could feel the presense of his love and then turns the tide. Support, support of his trainer and his wife, that is what turns the tide between the match between Rocky and Apollo. It just really intrigues me is that the music just really fits into that scene and how impressive that victory is. While some comes as ridculous, I still disagree because the boxing scenes really pumped me out even though I'm not a boxing fan of any sort.

The casting in this movie is quite impressive, Stallone's character gives out the emotional impact, first trying to live on his living and then becoming a champion. Stallone, really knows the character from top to bottom, as well as written, one of the most impacted storylines out there. Burgess Meredith whose is one of the most amazing and talented actors out there played Mickey, an arrogant trainer that trains Rocky and wants the true power manifests inside of Balboa. Out of all of the cast, Meredith is truly the best actor in this whole entire series. Paul Young is another great actor whom is play Paulie, a brother of Adrien and yet a sterotypical brother indeed. The montages is along one of the staples of the whole Rocky series. It just pumps us up when the montage appears out of nowhere, truly amazing. As I assume, Stallone, first tries to make a emotional scene and then out of nowhere, a montage appears and truly is amazing. The music that played in the montage, well the first few movies, is along one of the famous songs out there, making it to television shows, movies and such. Like every montage, Rocky runs up the steps of an art museum in Philpeldia and towards today, people run up these steps and make the Rocky, victory dance. As could be famous as could be.

Overall, Rocky is indeed one of the most influenual and popular movies out there. The drama, the humour and the music is what makes the series so amazing and impressive to this day. Stallone argually created one of the best series out there. This is quite a popcorn movie as us to enjoy, as is recommended by critics and viewers alike.

The film is very intresting. Rocky displays each character having their own emotional voyage discovering themselves. Such as Rocky discovering he can find happiness with boxing and Adrian, he just has to believe he can, snd work for it, and Adrian learns that she can find love with Rocky, you just got to give a person a chance, and Apollo Creed discovers a true fighter such as Rocky come from heart and soul.

Overall, Rocky was a sports film that took the genre to a whole new level with it's emotional depth and great characters.

You've seen the 60 year old Italian Stallion, Sylvester Stallone, recently in an inspirational on-screen and off-screen battle against the odds with 'Rocky Balboa'. Now you can go back 25 years to where it all began. In 1976, this classic about an unknown has-been boxer given a chance to fight the World Champion, came out of nowhere to pick up three Oscars including Best Picture. Written in just three days by Stallone, the film produces some truly great characters in Rocky, Apollo Creed, Mickey and Paulie. More a film about people and heart than boxing, but damn that's immense too. The two-disc special edition (UK)has extras that span 9 hours including 3 commentaries, one with Sly himself. An absolute must for die-hards and curious folk alike.

The Rocky series is one of the biggest series of movies ever, both in length, and in popularity. But, the movie that started it all, was 1976's "Rocky"

The film focuses on Rocky Balboa (Stallone), a ametuer boxer who is down on his luck, with a small apartment, and stuck in a "money collecting" job. Meanwhile, Apollo Creed, the reining champ of boxing, needs more publicity, and organises to allow one rookie boxer to have a shot at the title, and that one rookie, is Rocky Balboa.

Despite being filmed with an EXTREMELY low budget, this film still is head and shoulders above movies of today. This is mostly because, it is the greatest underdog story around, and is what spawned the many parodies and rip offs which plague Hollywood and the small screen today. The acting is great, and though Rocky mumbles a lot, if you actually want to sit and watch, you can understand, and he often says what's on his mind. These lines are funny, emotional, and deep. The fight scenes are top notch, and you'll actually be on your seat, cheering for Rocky as if it was a real match.

Overall, Rocky is one of those must see films which defined an entire generation, and I have to say, it changed my life, and taught me to take risks.

For this movie is the best of all the Rocky movies. I like the rest, but this one really touched me. I love everything about this movie from Rocky's fights to his love for Talia.

Boy, I have to just forget the rest of the "Rocky movies" and continue to remember how this movie came across when I saw it in the theaters. A nice script with well-drawn characters, all with faults and quirky characteristics. I simply can't believe the absurd cartoons the players became after being strung through the depressing soap opera of "Rocky II" and emerging as ridiculous turkeys for the rest of the franchise.

As for this movie, it stands alone well, the growth of Balboa and the cynical greed of Apollo are done nicely, there is a real sense of evolution and challenging hopeless odds. The writing is good with some real grit, the cinametography pretty ordinary. One thing that does work here as a "one shot" but would later become unfortunate is the fight scenes themselves - hopelessly unrealistic with the numerous shots of boxers bludgeoning each other with unobstructed blows to the face. It worked well to garner cheers in the theater but ultimately lent a style of stupid "video-game" carnage to the rest of the sequels.

Its hard to say if "Rocky" deserved the Academy Award, but it is an uplifting story that was nicely-balanced in its approach.
