I must admit that prior to seeing this film for rent at my local cool video store, that I had never even heard of this film. Just looking for a film that I hadn't seen. I liked the name of the film, so I decided to give it a try. I loved this film. It had a nice flow from humor in the beginning of the movie, to darkly serious as the movie progresses. I saw this back in '97, so didn't know any of the actors in it. I remember how much I really liked the character that was played by Ewan McGregor. He made this film in my opinion. Although his character is a bit of a jerk in the beginning, he was still very likable. That was important, as the journey through the movie centers around the 3 leads. One is emotionally invested in the characters, which makes the ending even more bleak. This film deals with friendship, and the devestating effects of greed. Can money really change a person that much? After seeing this film, it seems entirely plausible.
