"A beautifully gory, funny and original concept horror film, with outstanding special effects."

Now here was a film that both 'Friday the 13th' and 'Nightmare on Elm Street' fans were drooling over - and rightfully so - 'Freddy vs. Jason' is at least a hundred miles ahead of what you would expect from a slasher film, it is an awesomely hard-working gore-fest that instead of doing nothing more than just piling in buckets of blood, and gratuitous sex and drugs in front of the camera lens, is respectful in its intentions, despite how remarkably gruesome it is. The end result is indubitably one of the finest modern horror films you could ever imagine.

A Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees cross-over is going to be awesome no matter how gratuitous any of its content is, and the overall best aspect of this film is just how fun it is. It is without question a quite perfect Friday-night movie that is as original, inventive and exciting as the first 'Nightmare on Elm Street', and...well...just infinitely better than 'Friday the 13th', full-stop. I have always liked 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' and there are some people out there who think this film ruined or brought the 'Nightmare' concept down to 'Friday's level, but that is untrue to the core - 'Nightmare' fans will not be disappointed. No run to your video store. Quick, while it's still dark!

This hit the ball out of the park, it takes the two in there most basic forms, Freddy a thinking man's killer and Jason being a mindless juggernaut and runs with it. You all most got to feel for Jason a little in the movie as he is first used by Freddy to give him some power and then by the teens as a weapon to fight Freddy for them, but considering he makes all most all the kills in this film, that goes away fast enough.

Everyone has wanted to see it, they could have shoveled something out just to meet what everyone wanted, but they worked on it and made something that certainly is a good piece of both worlds.

the tv edition sucked ass only because they cut all of the cursing and the 2 boob scenes and the scene where lori chops off freddy`s head with jason`s machete,the final battle between freddy and jason kicks ass too!

Although the acting was fairly poor, and `Jason X` was more entertaining, I still couldn't help but have a massvie grin across my face when I saw this movie.

For over a decade, the idea of Freddy going up against Jason seemed like something that would never go beyond horror fan sites, but with New Line having the rights to future films in both the series, it finally happened.

The deaths scenes were entertaining, the pace of the movie was just right, there was a perfect mix of both the series styles throughout, and the final battle was just how it should have been.

A must see for all slasher fans.
