While this film takes HUGE literary license with the life of Mozart, this is a triumph of cinema and storytelling. The greatest achievement of Amadeus, and there are many, is that it brought the music of Mozart to my generation, and from the looks of things, the next generation as well. The music was truly the star of this movie, with some of the best recordings of his music that I have ever heard.

Although, historically, not entirely accurate, it nonetheless captured the spirit of Mozart very well. From the height of his popularity, to his pauper's death, this movie made Mozart a person, and not some bland historical figure that one would find in music appreciation class. Amadeus is a very accessible film, with very little in the way of fake accents that can be distracting.

The movie is rather long. In fact the version I saw even had an intermission, which is something that one rarely sees anymore, and should be used in a lot of newer films as well. It was long, but every minute was worth watching. I wouldn't have minded another hour or so added to the film's content, it was that good.

The acting was superb. Everyone did a top notch job. From Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham, to lesser characters such as Jeffery Jones, there were no performances that seemed off. For all actors out there, this is how it's done.

Everybody should see this film at least once, then show their children when they are old enough. A little culture never hurt anyone, and could inspire another generation to explore their creative potential.

At first, i thought this movie adoption of real-life would be a complete disater, but yet its still is. But its quite good. Peter Scaffer's Amadeus feels and have an nostaglia to it, its really quite a great film and enjoyable one too. Adapted from the Tony Winning Broadway Smash.

Based on true story on the life and works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are well presented in a very artistic manner. His mysterious death is explained in the film through a confession from Antonio Salieri, another known composer from the 17th century. Antonio Salieri tells about his rivalry between him and the younger but superior prodigy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salieri secretly loathes Mozart's crude and bratty personality, but is astounded by the beauty of his music. Furious that God has chosen Mozart over him, Salieri begins plotting to destroy God's creature, by any means nessecary. The performance of the movie is quite intriguing. F. Murray Abraham (Salieri) creates a well performance as well as his acting. At first I thought he looked quite like Abe Vagoati, but i realized he is a more potential actor. Tom Hulce's performance gives a look and feel of what Mozart in the 17th century is, its just funny when you hear his laughter. He well presented that role and the excutation is pretty well. A nostaglia feeling set in 17th century, Vienna is magnificent and its feels like your in the movie, which drives you through, the life and the wonderful music of Mozart. The Music is just sweet and rich to all its colours. From operas to symphony, Forman done a pretty good job doing that. The sense of the feeling of Mozart music just makes everyone moving. To classical symphonies to operas is pretty well excuted at its own right.

Overall, Amadeus delivers a charming, sweet and moving story about the life and the msuic of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Rivalries between a composer against a composer is intense through music and operas. Fans of his creative works should approciate this experience and everyone should purchase this piece of history. This is a Recommended Purchase.

Wow, what is there to say about this amazing film? I love it. The music is fabulous, and I love the opera scenes. The acting is phenomenal. Especially by the 2 leads. The story is wonderful. Even though it's pretty long, it keeps you interested....
