Network is my favorite of favorite films. It's funny though that I didn't truly appreciate it until I actually worked in a large media company like the ficticious UBS corp in Network. It is amazingly relevant today and can almost be called prophetic. The story of UBS is almost blow for blow the story of FOX Networks and Rupert Murdock. Moreover, the movie's depictions of corporate lifestyle and powerplays may seem exaggerated, but are pretty authentic. You've got your shady businessmen who have no power but use the threat of their superiors, the position for sex ladder climbers, the old worn out idealists who have witnessed the collapse of their lives around what they thought to be the noble progression of their craft, and last but not least the audience.

It's a great flick and holds up extremely well.
