I will admit that I liked this movie when it came out in 1981. I haven't seen it since, so my memory of it might be skewed. Just like my memory of the house where I grew up is all warped.
What I remember is that there is no real acting going on, just a bunch of people being silly, making up a silly language, and fighting off Dinosaurs...yes, that's right, the old "Caveman vs. Dinosaur" routine. Thankfully, Jurassic Park killed that myth once and for all.
It has ridiculous pooh-pooh jokes, both physical and verbal, lots of crude indications about sexual activity, and a mindless storyline that neither benefits the characters nor the audience.
Then why did I give it two and one half stars?
Mostly because I was a young boy when I saw this and all of those mindless things listed above were just what I thought was the center of the world...and at the time Barbara Bach was just what the doctor ordered, so all the comedy around her was even better. If I saw it today I'd most likely give it 1 star, which I guess would mean that if you're young, and not so sophisticated that you can stand clay-mation, then you'll probably find this silly movie funny.
