A tough one to rate as "The Philadelphia Story" is my favorite movie of all, but it seems somewhat obvious that the casting here is just not going to match quite as well. This is Grace Kelly's final film and I enjoy her more than Crosby and Sinatra but she's no where near as powerfully witty as Hepburn.

The sets distract me in this movie, very cavernous, like stage sets, and the other atmospheric touch, Louis Armstrong, is also a forced fit - much as I enjoy him.

Probably my least favorite aspect is Crosby's Dexter, he has none of the cool reserve of Cary Grant and professes his love of Tracy throughout the film. The Cole Porter songs are now famous, I just can't imagine this story with Dexter singing "True Love" to Tracy on a sailboat.

Just an OK movie for me.
