Back in 1939, "Gunga Din" was the "Indiana Jones" of its day! Three British soldiers with the help of a local Indian water giver named Gunga Din must find a way to stop the brutal Thuggee cult from trying to destroy the British army for the blood goddess Kali! What's amazing is that this similar plot would be used again in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" with Indiana Jones trying to stop the Thuggee cult who worshipped the blood goddess Kali! Even though I know this movie was filmed near Lone Pine, California, the conviction and strength of the actors and the scenes in the movie that were made with careful planning and timing makes you believe that this movie Did take place in 1890's India! And this is a great movie, one of the best earlier movies and I highly reccommend it for anyone to see! Enough said, true believers! ;)
