A fascinating movie to watch, full of dark humor as well as horror as you realize the situation that's unfolding. It's almost hilarious to see Khigh Dhiegh (the acting world's synonym for "brainwashing") being compared in a dream to a the lecturer at a lady's garden club meeting.

Angela Lansbury finds a good role here, one that highlights her talents much better than a film like "The Picture of Dorian Gray". The overall creepiness of her affiliations and willingness to use her son tips this movie above and beyond the usual "Cold War" spy-fi epic into a memorable and nasty psychology.

The plotting is fairly slow and the production values minimal, the message is the take-home lesson with this one - and to most film viewers that pay attention, that is very hard to forget.
