This is another one of my favorate horrorfilms of all time (number 7 to be exact). I'm a fan of this film I'll admit and so were most of my friends and some of them aren't even horror movie fans. This film was directed by my favorate horror author and author in general Clive Barker, it's a shame there isn't enough live action movie adaptions on his work personally I would love to see more of them, the horror movie genere could use them. I love this horror film because it's one I've never seen anything like it before, fantasy horror is not an everyday subcatagory in horror tackled.

The production value was great it was done on a low budget but it really looked like it was done on a big one. Everything had a dark beauty to it, some things were groteche yet beautiful at the same time, but I really loved the use of darkness gave everything sort of a otherworldly fantasy quality as if reality is falling away and your entering a darker world. But of course the highlight is in some of the speical effects and monsters. I really love that puzzle box how it is designed and even how it works. The Centibites are cool, they were the most memorable monsters ever I really love the costume design which is S and M gear and the make up work making the demons seem somewhat human and yet not but also look as though their in some sort of pain from certain physical features. Pinhead was great he's the kind of villian you don't want to mess with or come within yards, from his commanding presence to his superpower which is to control chains with his mind, kinda like comic book superhero "Spawn". Ashley Larence I had a crush on this actress heck she was the first actress I had a crush on really like her character because you cared about her, she had a personality that I liked.

Most of all I like how the romance play out thoughout the film which was the story after all, it's sort of a dark love story, it's not exactly happy nor sad. What I like is how it has sort of an ambiguous feel to it, it's not exactly wrong but it's not really right because it's done under shameful terms. Both are sympahthc character but not completely because their not good guys their bad guys. I sort of can emphasize with Julia's attraction to Frank because I'm attracted to bad girls myself just as she's attracted to bad guys. I think it's because they make us feel certain things we can't or don't exercise enough, you can say were sort of their yin but their our yang.

There is this constant 2 way susupense, on one hand we seort of want Julia and Frank to not get caught and suceed in their plight. But on another hand you want Christy to survive and escape befor she gets caught. The film has this constant psydo dynamic to it which is the themes of the film. How both pleasure and pain are indivisiable but also the corupt side of love. I think we all go to a certain length for the significant other we love but the question is how far should we go?

Hellraiser is a great horror film that has no limits.

Classic horror. A great adaptation of the original story. Clive Barker never bothers to look where the line is, so, he has no problem crissing it.

Creepy, creepy, creepy. This movie is so very very creepy.

It's sexy, painful, and at some points mildly incestuous. Good for a creep-fest, or for nearly other creepiness you can conceive.
