The first film took a game and toned it down to work for Hollywood; the second took the same game with an expanded story and made it into the most ridiculous movie of all time. Packed full of badly choreographed fight sequences, unnecessary scenes, bad costumes, and over acting, its still a must see film along with pulp fiction to explain the 1990's. This film should never be took seriously or seen as a part of the Mortal Kombat story. Its enjoyable to watch as a mortal kombat fan from a comedic point of view.

Is this a good movie, no... do I hate this movie, nope. This movie realy does drop the ball after the far better showing before it. The fights are just adverage at best and it does get a feel wrong.

The movie for the most part uses the story of the the third game (Don't blame them for skipping two, it was just the same as one, just in outworld, witch they went to in the first movie.) and just seems rather pointless. By the end you have to wonder if anything they do in the movie realy helped at all (outside of getting Jax, who just replaces Jonny since they let him just go off himself right off)

I mean Lu goes out to gain his Animality, witch fought horridly and was usless at the cost of nealy having Katanna killed. Sonya goes off to find Jax, somthing that would had not been needed if they had fought at the start with Jonny. In the end I'd say they realy just where weaker by the end, At the start they had 4 mortals and a thunder god ready to fight and the portals had just opened so that the world was not too harmed. By the time there 'Ready to fight' they are 5 mortals, no thunder god and, as said in the movie, most of the best fighters in the world are dead.

As much as I have griped this is as far below adverage as the first was above and it was such a shame as I'm sure somthing better could had been done with this.

The storyline is not only ridiculous but makes no sense.Characters come out of nowhere and disappear as if never existing in the first place.The fight scenes are incredibly bad,cheesy,a mix between power rangers and 3 ninjas.The special effects are laughable and the acting is equivalent to a chimpanzee.This won't even please fanboys because it's nothing like the game.The script is worse than an elementary school play and the outfits look like halloween costumes.Bad everything from stage direction,to acting,to action Mortal Kombat is annihilated by this sad excuse for a sequel.

when i finished seeing this movie i was like omg what happened ? There's no real story line and a lot of it just doesn't make sense. If these people realy want to redeem themselves they should remake the second one so that it can actually tie in...
