I've not seen movie number 4, but out of the first three this is the best. A veteran minding his own business is provoked and you don't provoke a former green beret and Vietnam vet without paying the consequences. A classic action movie!

This movie had a great action, and I like the music. The storyline was good and it had a great cast. I give this movie, 4 stars.

First Blood, a classic movie starring Stallone. His character is intresting here but the movie should realy focus a little more to that. The story is the best thing about it, the plot is nice but not great.

Stallones best film and performance bar Copland.
He plays the emotionally torn vietname bet excellently and kicks some serious bad cop ass!
One of the best movies ever. A classic.

I had never heard of this until my frined showed it to me. The first 20 minutes were sort of boring but after that it just builded up. I loved rhe last 10 minutes with all the fires. The thing which really annoys me is that Rambo rummbles alot.

First Blood introduces us to Sly Stallone's second most enduring character. He is John J Rambo, Vietnam hero turned drifter. When he is arrested for no real reason in a small town, something inside him snaps, and the Rambo known only to dead Vietnamese soldiers emerges. What follows are violent set pieces as Rambo fights an enemy who isn't really an enemy while his demons threaten to tear him apart. With this film, Stallone managed to tap into the hunger of the American public for traditional heroes and for closure on the Vietnam conflict. Cracking stuff.

  Director Ted Kotcheff has all sorts of trouble with this mess, aside from credibility. Supposedly, the real villain here is society itself, which invented a debacle like Vietnam and must now deal with its lingering tragedies. But First Blood cops out completely on that one, not even trying to find a solution to Stallone's problems.
