I enjoy watching "Gone With the Wind", the production is spectacular, the touches of grand Hollywood are fun, and the historical background is relatively interesting.

As a movie and a story, it tends to bog down in too much content over too much time, not enough is spent setting a true mood for any one of the scenarios and sub-plots presented. Life on the plantation is interesting, then it's off to war, then to jealousy, then to poverty, then to redemption, then to the complexities of marriage. I end up thinking that nothing is in enough depth and wondering why the lengthy novel couldn't have been pared down for a motion picture format.

As much as I like Olivia DeHavilland, her character bores me with her sweetness, I never was a Leslie Howard fan and Ashley seems overly emotional and spineless. The dialog spins into a melodramatic pool of fainting declarations whenever the Scarlett/Melanie/Ashley triangle takes center stage. Gable helps, but by the time he takes the screen for any length, the melodrama is just too thick.

As much as I like this film, it doesn't make my list of one of the all-time greats.

Gone With The Wind is a truly classic film that everyone should see at least once in their lives. The cast, story, costumes, scenery, and acting are all superb. Although the movie is quite long, it still manages to keep you riveted and interested...

Gone With The Wind is a truly classic film that everyone should see at least once in their lives. The cast, story, costumes, scenery, and acting are all superb. Although the movie is quite long, it still manages to keep you riveted and interested in all the different happenings in the film. Vivian Leigh gives an amazing performance as the story’s heroine. She truly captures the essence of the Southern belle Scarlet O’Hara in her performance. Not only is this a great dramatic movie, it is also a great romance movie as well. Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh have such great chemistry between them which adds even more greatness to this movie.

Gone with the wind is not mine kind of movie, and it just put me to sleep by watching it. It's a ood movie, it had alot of great cast, It had a very long storyline and it's really good. I like the music, and the best part is that it's in color...

I've always loved this movie for the costumes, the sets, and the whole script of a spoiled southern belle who finds love in the right place and the wrong time and manages to turn everyone upside down wanting what she can't have!!!!

A very long but great film. One of the film you must see before dying. In one word: a classic.
Clark Gable is terrific in this movie. Even if it's a pretty old one (1939!) I don't think it ages too much. I first watched it when I was a kid...

Clark Gable is terrific in this movie. Even if it's a pretty old one (1939!) I don't think it ages too much. I first watched it when I was a kid and watched it few times more after and I always spent great time watching it.
Some of the lines became classic "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn"
A great war and love movie.

This is one of the greatest movies of all time i relly enjoyed it and it has one of the best lines ever said in a film i liked the film and it was a real good war movie.

It's not my typical kind of movie but I did enjoyed it. It has a terrific story and some terrific actors. It's certainly a classic and a fabulous movie.
