A strange movie, this. At times it seems like a genuinely good story and then somehow manages to drag itself back down into the dirt.
It's a story about the monsters that come for you in the dark, simply put. The story revolves around a character called Julia Lund. Who as a child encountered the creatures in the dark but wrote it off as her own imagination until recently when strange event show the creatures are more real than she thought.
The one thing They could have done with is a back story. the film hints towards these creatures being around for centuries but nothing real is really said about them. This makes the film feel kind of hollow. All in all it's a fairly good idea but the lack of story and my feelings towards the casts acting abilities made it a dissapointing film. the DVD comes with an alternate ending, but both endings are pretty awful, the theatrical version was blatently obvious and the alternate ending was very cliche. Buy the DVD if there's nothing else on the rack. Otherwise, just steer clear.
