Blanche DuBois is a middle-aged teacher who goes to New Orleans to visit her only sister, Stella, married to a Polish. Blanche,whose education and upbringing marks her as belonging to the Southern genteelity, is uncomfortable in the neighbourhood. Also, she has some mental problems and a more or less concealed alcoholism. Her brother-in-law, Stanley,who suspects her, investigates her past, revealing some hidden secrets that will drive her crazy.
