I just watch the 1960 Best Movie The Apartment with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine at my local theater. Really, nothing compares to seeing a movie in a theater. It's the little details you can see that gave this masterpiece texture and richness. The TV show Mad Men draws a lot from this movie for the 1960s corperate culture of men vs. women.

My favorite of the Wilder comedies, there is enough going on here and enough that still rings true today that it deserves a fond recommendation. There is little about the world of office politics and sexual intrigue that misses the mark here, and...

My favorite of the Wilder comedies, there is enough going on here and enough that still rings true today that it deserves a fond recommendation. There is little about the world of office politics and sexual intrigue that misses the mark here, and there are enough twists to keep the interest up - especially between Lemmon, MacMurray and elevator operator MacLaine.

For the TV fan, there are nice references here, commercials, how popular "The Untouchables" was on Thursday nights, David White playing a role almost identical to his Larry Tate role on "Bewitched".

I particularly like Shirley MacLaine in this movie, it's nice to see her play the role of an innocent trapped in male machinations beyond her control but still with a good sense of herself.

A good movie that has a good story to tell my rating for this movie is 4 Stars.
