"One of the greatest, most disturbing horror films ever made."

Wes Craven's disturbing directorial debut, 'The Last House on the Left' is, at its core, one of the most important horror films in history. It defied almost all the boundaries of the common process film-making and the boundary of what's morally acceptable, and for being so daring and for contemplating the unimaginable, it's also one of the greatest horror films ever made.

'Last House' is low-budget, brutal, gory, disquieting, emotional, depressing, disturbing and terrifying. It's a rare cinema experience that keeps you captivated and shocked for the entire duration and due to its disturbing content was originally banned for around thirty years as a video nasty. It's trashy, gritty, and cheap-looking, but is still an incredible work or art. One of the greatest horror movies, and not to mention horror-satires ever produced, and it slowly grows better and better by its sheer age.

This shows how different things were in the 70's as far as moviemaking goes. This would be too brutal a movie for many to watch I imagine. As a horror buff I enjoyed it's unpredictability.
