Blade 2 simply put is more of what made the first so famous and less so what gave the original its character.

It relishes on the fact that it is high on the violence and action scale which contributes largely to the film’s story itself. If I had to comment how I thought of these action scenes, they are generally good but not as ingeniously set up as in the original film, plus they lack a real build up or subtle charm you would come to expect. From the very intro you will be introduced to some of the best action scenes in the movie. However, from there onwards, it gets repetitive and boring, likely because of the issues I explained earlier.

As far as acting is concerned, both Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristofferson return as Blade and Whistler. The film also features Ron Perlman, who is famous for playing Hellboy and Norman Reedus, who you might remember from the under-rated film Gossip. This area is also impressively executed in Blade 2, yet no real recognisable stars. Oh well.

The score of the film itself is memorable at best. Many of the tracks are listenable dance music and quite likeable too I might add, if you are in to that sort of thing. The camera shots in Blade 2 are also well executed and the script is generally good, but there are a few moments when you will think it is a little generic and odd.

As far as letdowns are concerned, Blade 2 only falters in its story and special effects. The story is a failure because it was too ambitious to attempt in a film and required more time to be developed on properly in my opinion. As for the effects, the CGI is way off and that is a shame, because the effects would have been one of the highlights of the film if it was concentrated on a little more.

Overall, the film is O.K. A rental at best, but nothing that should be bought at R.R.P. It can be a barrel of laughs, but with the film riding on the legacy of the original; it is hard not to be left wanting more as the credits roll.

It seemed like it was put together alright though, the cinematics are actually pretty good - whatever settting you are in during the movie, you feel it.

I had mixed feelings about this one even after I watched it. It is definitely worth seeing for any fan of the series or vampires.

It's been 4 years since BLADE came out and I have been waiting for this movie to come out for so long, was it worth the wait?? HELL YEAH! Many successful movies that often become franchises always come out with **** sequels (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET anybody?) but just by watching the trailers for this film I was pumped up to watch this movie let me tell you, this is much better than the first film so you can imagine how this one would be...for one thing the studio hired a director who knew what he was doing and I look forward to more of Guillermo del Toro's films because he has earned my respect as a top notch filmmaker after watching this film...it’s a visual feast and a visceral experience, the first 20 minutes of the movie was intense and as the story progressed, it never let up...the action kept coming like the Energizer Bunny.
Wesley Snipes is back as Blade and this time around he has more fun playing the role, you the man Snipes. The one thing that I really liked in this film was the villains also know as the Reapers, my god those things are vicious killing machines...a good solid formidable opponent to challenge the Day Walker. The action sequences were just over the top and suited this film very well, big up to Donnie Yen (Iron Monkey) as he is credited as the action choreographer for this movie. There really isn't anything negative to say about this movie except the love fling with Blade and the female vampire Nyssa, it could have been more developed but it's kind of difficult to develop the love relationship in an action packed movie like this, after all that's what the filmgoers expected coming into this film...they're going to finish watching the film and leave with a smile on their face just like I did.
