The premise is almost painfully obvious and frankly if this movie had been made in Europe, with a cast of nobodies, they would have had to spend a lot more time on the script. A lot more time.
We get everyone's motivation, but the pace is too quick to care, because, we American's and our constant need for adrenaline have burnt out our deeper roots, like smoking kills off those tiny hairs in the back of your throat...in order to have those grow back, we have to stop smoking. Same goes for our higher reasoning.
This was a nice, middle of the road movie. The Direction is good. The editing, very good at times. The acting...well, it is Foster and Whitaker, how can you go wrong?
Personally, the introduction to Dwight's character is cliche. They should have either forgotten his character altogether or given us more back story. He's unbelievable. Or more accurately, Whitaker's character wouldn't have allowed him on the team. Whitaker was too smart and worse, actually had a heart, his character would have had issues with the gun wielding madman. But I digress.
It has a small Hitchcock undertow, which is nice. It takes place in one house. In basically one room, and we get a little tied up in that.
The action is good.

Honestly, I really enjoyed this movie. I'm not sure why as it wasn't particularly original, but it was a true thriller and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Jodie Foster, who I don't particularly care for, did a wonderful job in this...

Good suspension thriller movie. I think it was something good, not completely awful and something worthy of mentioning with someone like Jodie Foester. The script could have been a little better, but anyway, this movie is fantastic and I think it was a good, good film.

Once again, Jodie Foster does an absoloutely amazing job. Even though alot of this movie is really creepy it is still better. I would have given it another point if it were a bit lighter but it can't be changed now.
