Sometimes the characters aren't very well portrayed but still there's plenty of action and excitement. And don't be fooled by the PG rating because this was made in the 80's or something so that usually means that it's PG-13 especially with some of the gory parts. still a very classic adventure movie to watch.

The first indianajnes movie, the raidersof the lost ark, is a good film, and is an excellent build up to the fourth one. THe use of Nazis is clever, andi like that this takes before even the war began, let alone when America joins it. The villain with glasses is really creepy, and when i recently watched it again, i was surprisedhe wasn't depicted as a total pervert or something. Still, the opening scene is among the best for a series of movies, and, overall, has good plot and action.

It's got all the elements for a good time turned to max and propelling. Good characters, a sizable story-line, that classic soundtrack, and a few thrills as well. It's THE 80s popcorn flick, but obviously I didn't think it was the greatest movie in its genre if I'm keeping it at four stars. The truth is that to absolutely love this movie, you would have to have been younger, probably a teenager that hasn't been numbed by all the gore and cheap thrills of today's popcorn movies. Despite my assumption, I still think that its a movie one will at least respect. It is an inspired effort that keeps people interested for its entirety, more than two decades later.

Anybody looking for a classic action movie will certainly find one here. This is the best movie of 1981, and one of Spielberg's best classics. The film starrs Han Solo (Star Wars) actor Harrison ford as Indiana Jones, a archeologist searching for the ark of the convent, holding the secrets to the ten comandments, with his girl, marion, and they need to get it before the Nazi's do.

The film features many awesome action scenes, such as the beheading of the strong bald nazi in the airport scene, Marion shooting all the Nazi's, and the Ark ritual scene. The film was bloody and all, but overall, the action was awesome.

The films special effects were incredible, for instance the opening of the ark, the exploding of the airport, and a Nazi car falling off a cliff. Indiana's punching also made me excited for more. It didn't actually matter if the music was repetitive, because it rocked. It has different pitches, and there are other brilliant songs John Williams made.

This is easily one of the best action films ever made. With five star action, wonderful effects and great music, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is a thriller of a film.

Anyways, Raiders of the Lost Ark is a fantastic start to a legendary series. There probably hasn't been a single scene in this movie that hasn't become embedded in our culture. Every scene is pretty much perfect.

This is for sure a great movie. I really liked it and it was a great start to the series. The beginning is a little unclear but really cool and intresting. Harrison Ford did an amazing job and the story is great! Go check this movie out!

If professor Jones' students were dreaming of him as a geeky scholar, imagine what they'd do if they saw him in the field! He's smart, he's sexy, he's brave, and in the end he wins the treasure, gets the girl and saves the day - not to mention he brandishes a whip, wears a hat and doesn't shave all that much. Indiana Jones in his first movie is the perfect adventure hero, leading the viewers to embark with him in his travels and perils around the world. Raiders of the Lost Ark is perfect in its seemly old-fashioned but oh so modern ambiance and storyline.
