Here is a film that Mr. Speilberg has gotten surprisingly mixed reactions from his fans and critics. I, personally think that A.I. Artifical Intelligence is a great film, but tries to capture many visions, that generally just don't flow.

The imagery and Sci-Fi tone, mood and feel of the film feels like a film created by Stanley Kubrick. At many times, the movie does look and feel like his work, but there are also the many moments of the movie that are genuienly Speilberg. The Speilberg side of the film is the classic boy-growing-up-story that you find in, very much, every film by Speilberg. The story of David trying to win his mother's love, is right out of Speilberg's plot cannon, and, it plays with the same dark drama and emotion and underplaying movement that most Speilberg characters do. The Kurbick side of the film, as I said, is the imagery of the film. The big city flickering with lights and having unusual technology is something, also, that exsists in every Kurbick film.

Speilberg has tried very hard to create something orginial and unique, but, they different visions of this film don't really tie together all that well. The film feels like 8 directors put this film together, and brough their own great ideas to the table, but, they just simply feel like somebody else's movie.

My hat goes off to Haley Joel Osment, who starred as Sora in the hugely popular Final Fantasy Disney/Square Enix video games franchise. He plays as David, the main character in this film. Haley, whilst looking like a highly young actor, puts so much soul and emotion into David's misunderstood little character, and you really believe he is just a little boy, lost and looking for love.

Overall, A.I. Artifical Intelligence is a stupendous effort by Speilerg, that is emotionally powerful and sad, and, a clever little adventure that mixes both the childlike concepts, and adult sci-fi concepts together to make it a fine family film, the other visions in the film just dont sync very well.

"Trash It - A uneven mishmash of dark drama and Spielberg's brand of heart warmth, ends up being barely watchable. " I found this movie a total mess. While Spielberg showed he could do dark dramas in the middle 1990s, his style is nothing compared to Kubrick's nightmarish worlds. The first leg of this movie is in the vein of the family films liek E.T. Warm and sweet with some shades of reality. Then the movie descends into a wicked cruel future. The change is polar and jarring. Then the film romps through a deadly (with Jude Law's character being written out poorly ant best) journey that ends in a trip to the remains of bottom of the ocean. Then movie twists back to Spielberg's vision with a poetic yet non-nonsensical ending, that left a bad taste in my mouth.

You know, I did enjoy the film, but I really feel like I missed a few parts of the movie because I just really could not piece it together very well. Cool special effects and cinematography though and a fun script.

I really liked this film, the special effects are are excellent, the only thing that disappointed me that the script wasn't that tight, and seemed to go on a little too long. This was suppose to be Stanley Kubrick's next film after he finished...

I really liked this film, the special effects are are excellent, the only thing that disappointed me that the script wasn't that tight, and seemed to go on a little too long. This was suppose to be Stanley Kubrick's next film after he finished Eyes Wide Shut, but he died shortly after completing Eyes Wide Shut, and it was excellent seeing Spielberg giving nods to Kubrick's directing style.
