Many wars movie, World War in specific, is about the Allies and their struggle for victory, but do you ever want to see the German Front. All Quiet on the Western does that formula and does it really well. All Quiet on the Western Front is an English language film (made in America) adapted from a novel by German author Erich Maria Remarque. Theres a clear antiwar statement in this film that shows that war isn't easy and the struggles of mankind trying to live with the war

The movie starts out like old movies, the flash of introduction quickly and the empthasis of the movie. The story is told entirely to the experiences of young german recruits after got motivated by their teacher, enlisting for the German Empire. They fought the war was very easy but they were wrong, as struggles to stay alive, find rations and get sane are in the eyes of these individuals.

This movie is very intriguing, this movie isn't about heroism and bravery like alot of World War movies out there but struggles of mankind, bearing up to artilley barrages, finding rations, and trench warfare. The movie feels much like the book, you can really experienced how the soldiers lived and its just enjoying at first but heartbreaking later. Its also a quite hilarious movie, setting back to old jokes that is funny. The acting is kinda quite for that era, the cast of character in this movie is unique, how like how they were portrayed in the book, with a dash of that era.

Lewis Milestone brings the entire feeling to the audience detailing it from start to finish. Milestone's presentation of this movie is through the roof. Although, i kinda don't enjoy the idea of seeing Germans winning battles but on the other hand, you really want to see the German's perceptive. His direction in this movie is nearly flawless and it ends up to be purely genius.The message that Milestone and Remarque delivers is powerful and gripping, it's antiwar statement is so clear, so magnificently showed, that overcomes any weakness the film could have.The antiwar statement displays not about heroism but about drudgery and futility and the gulf between the concept of war and the actuality. Milestone's visual and dynamic effects looks impressive. In the 1930s world, with impressive sound effects of artillery barrages, machine gun fire, grenade explosive and much much more. Its just stunning to see how visual and dynamic effects were back that then. The sound effects are quite good, just as the visual and dynamic effects, sometimes the artillery barrages sound like whisting but it still stands out sounding good. Overall, All Quiet on the Western Front delivers a enjoyable and pleasant experience for everyone. Its just intriguing to see the German's perceptive and how they lived through trench warfare, life on the open battlefield and the struggles to find provisions. Everything is just excuatated pretty well and it all shines through, for people looking for a great World War movies, World War one in specific because they aren't that much as World War two movies. This is indeed a recommended purchase for any action fan or World war fans.

This is one of my favorite film of all time. It is based on the novel of the same name written by Erich Maria Remarque. Suprisingly, the film doesn't have the usual 1930s overacting. Most of the acting is solid. There are really only one or two overacted scenes. Such as when Paul "comes back". (You'll know what I mean if you've seen the film.) So, if you read the novel and liked/loved it, you will want to see this film. Or if you have seen the movie but haven't read the novel, this film will want to make you to read the novel.

This is the beginning of the anti-war film, and possibly one of the best war films of all time. A must see for fans of Saving Private Ryan.
