This is the movie that defines the modern "zombie" (and I'd go so far as to say "horror") movie. Admittedly there is a lot borrowed from Mathas' "I Am Legend" and the Vincent Price movie based on that novel- "The Last Man on Earth"... but Romero made the idea his own in stunning and unique work with characterization and plot... i would say this movie is a classic or ground breaking, but neither adaquitly describe how this single low budget movie has impacted film, tv, sci-fi, horror, and our general culture... too bad Romero was screwed out of royalties and ownership of this movie.

Night of the living dead is a classic! It pretty much started the zombie movie genre. The fact that it is in black and white makes it even scarier in my opinion. George Romero is a genius. The way the movie is directed is brilliant. The story with the characters is very compelling. The story of how humanity can turn cruel when trapped. Great story, great graphics (especially for 1968!) The whole movie is just AWESOME!

Night Of The Living Dead is a true classic in the zoombir genre, any fan should watch this. I`m not a big fan myself but this movie is awsome. Maybe the best zombie movie ever made.
