It's been 10 years since this film and since this is it's 10 year anivercery I feel I owe the film some words. This film is one of my favorate horror film and films in general. It was another one of the films that inspired me in filmaking, it just went to show you don't ned a big budget or even fancy special effects to make a good/great movie, sometimes I would see some films that are made on a big budget with big effects and they would suck because of bad content; this film though is powered by both good/great content and execution.

I remember after this film I was a little bit scared going back home because my house is near a patch of woods and even my room is facing the woods, I couldn't help but feel afraid there was a witch hiding. Also this film put me off camping for a while. But feeling that way after this film is a great feeling I don't get often.

This film isn't so much a film but feels more like an experence. It is shot a bit like a documentry but your seeing in the camera's perspective thoughout the whole film, it really has that participatory feel like your the fouth character in the adventure. Most of the time I was struggling to see and wonder what was happening or what the hell was going on. I couldn't help but have the creeps and dread throughout the whole film because when night falls I always knew danger was upon them. This film has a suspense where you already know what's going to happen but you not sure what it is and from what goes on and knowing the characters you don't want it to happen; but theres nothing you can do about it.

I really love the legend built around this film, they did a great and though job of building that up making the adversary all the more threatening and belevable.

But I also liked the characters, Heather, Mike and Josh. They really didn't feel like actors or they were acting but real people. All three didn't have much of a script to read off of, they had to improve most of the time and that was a great move that I don't see much; it really worked in the belevablity. All three characters felt like the kind of people that I can be friends with, in fact I've actually had friends like them that were interested in the same things as me. Which made me care for them more.

The ending I thought was both chilling and sad. But made me wonder at the end was there really a Blair Witch or some serial killer in the woods. It true you could exercise sceptism and just go with the basic serial kiler conclusion but I could never do that because there are some things that couldn't be discounted like some of those noises how could those be made or even that mysterious last image.

The Blair Witch is still out in those woods and it's presnce is still felt today.

If you don't skip parts and keep on watching this movie from the very starting you will definitively feel the chill in your spine. I can't believe that I saw this movie after 8 years it was released. Never knew about this movie.

Its scary,dark,suspense right from the first minute and little more scary. My heart is still bumping pumping now after 15 minutes I finished this movie.

'The Blair Witch Project' is the most psychologically horrifying and powerful horror movie I have ever seen. It has a tremendously powerful atmosphere, and the acting - solely on its incredible realism - is some of the best I've seen in a movie. Everything about the film is realistic. It's beyond brilliant, and left me shocked, scared and amazed when I first saw it.

'The Blair Witch Project' is simple in getting its message across, and when it does get its message across, you realize there's no possible way it would ever have been as powerful had they just used scary images and ghosts. It doesn't use make-up, ghosts, demons or zombies to scare us, it breaks through our mental barriers, and gets deep inside out psyches. It also very obviously borrows from the 1979 Italian horror movie, "Cannibal Holocaust". They're both the same: three/four filmmakers go into the woods/Amazon rainforest to film a documentary. Both films show whole scenes of just the trees and scenery being filmed, and both films show the camera being dropped to the ground as something happens in the background.

Ah, that frightingly iconic movie poster reminds me that exhuberantly chilling experience I had watching Blair With Project on the small screen. A huge blazing HD TV, blazing realistic flesh tones and huge surrond sound, made this otherwise low budget horror film even more scary than what the film actually is, which is a tense work of simplistic genius to truly remind us of what horror is, plain and simple.

Everyone seems to slate this film as because it was not a true story, and the fact it was shot within a realistic style which is documentary, it must all be true right? You idiots. Sometimes, movies like Blair Witch are meant to be shot in a realistic fashion to creative a perspective of the characters as if as they are like real people- well, people truly don't aspire to true creativity when they properly see it, because this, my fellow moviegoers, is lost thriller art at it's best.

The film follows the hapless misadventures of three student filmmakers named Heather, Josh and Mike as they head over to a spooky forest in Maryland to film a documentary of the urban folklore and myth that is the Blair Witch. After filmming enough footage as thy can, the group decide to return to the car to return the items they used to film. However, they cannot seem to find the route of their car and get lost due to Mike losing the map. The rest of the film sees these four helpless young students wandering around the forest lost for directions and each time experiencing odd supernatural horrors accuring to them. The Blair Witch Project, if you research about this movie, used the simplest of cinematic techniques in order to make us believe that is event could of have actually happened. The film was not scripted at all, and it was completely improvised on the spot by these young kids, and it was shot with standard black and white footage to emphezise the horror. These techniques could of not been more better executed in a more realistic fashion, even if the legendary horror master John Carpenter could've tried.

Overall, underneath Blair Witch's low budget execution is a whopping thriller that scares you every second, and a solid peice of legendary filmmaking is to truly be witnessed here. Get ready to be chilled to the max with this timeless horror classic.

After I realized it was fake, I guess you still have to give it credit for being original. It was very unique at the time and nobody came close to duplicating the experience it gave for years.

It can drag a bit its unique and the ending was pretty good, though not everyone agrees. You'll probably love it or hate it like the rest of us...

Yes, I'm sorry, but I actually like this movie. The documentary style for a scary movie is what makes this movie work. Because of the home camera angles and editing, it's easy to get tied up with the characters. And because so many people have watched home movies before, you let your guard down concerning the fact that it's fictional. It gave that certain perspective that other movies don't often deliver.
