A raging torrent of emotion that even nature can't control! In this lush Technicolor film noir, Polly and Ray Cutler are a loving couple who are finally able to take their honeymoon in romatic Niagara Falls. When they arrive they meet Rose and George Loomis, an odd couple who are having severe marital woes. Rose is quite the femme fatale and her open sexual behavior makes George extremely jealous and forces him to plan a violent dastardly deed. At the same time Rose has plans of her own. This film is filled with escalating terror and a highly charged ending. The majestic Niagara Falls serves as an appropriate metaphor for the destructive power of runaway carnal lust and its consequences. The film was launched with a memorable ad campaign featuring water cascading over Marilyn Monroe's curvaceous body (see one-sheet). Niagara helped to solidify Monroe's status as a sex-goddess, and, more importantly, a box office draw.
