Neer-do-wells will bash the last half of this movie for straying so much from the book, but I don't care...it would have taken too long for them to get anywhere if they had remained that true to the source material anyways. It's a great sci-fi movie (& likewise great book...Stephen King should do more strictly sci-fi stuff). The toilet scene should live in infamy forever in the hearts & minds of horror fans everywhere. The appearance of the alien in the living room was just great. Made me really enjoy Damian Lewis (YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING LIFE ON NBC!!)...and, no, Thomas Jane isn't the best actor (two SK movies under his belt though...!), but it's not too much of a distraction with the rest of the cast being great. What isn't Morgan Freeman in, right? I love Jason Lee, so I was sad to see him playing Beaver, but he got all those great Beaver-isms, so that was worth it too...****AROW!!
