Great film with an awesome ending. Ziyi Zhang is so hot...Michelle Yeoh is awesome as always (she's in,like, every kung fu movie ever!). There are seriously people that can't get over subtitles & cultural fantasy differences? wtf? >_>

why so many fans, why so many good reviews? This movie is weeeeeiiiiiirrrrrrrrdddd!!!!! Flying people and stupid martial arts stunts. I think it was pretty stupid but you might think otherwise.

First thing you should know about this movie if you are considering going to see it is that it is subtitled. If you are not fond of reading your dialouge instead of listening to it, you might want to stay away. If however you are into awesome (if unbelievable) martial arts fights, then you might get a kick out of this movie. There are both hand-to-hand fights and ones using unusual weapons (very cool). However, that is basically the only thing that kept this film interesting. The unbelievable part comes when the people "fly" and float all over the place during their fights. Long, huge bounds across the tops of buildings, smooth-wall climbing, and the ability to jump up to and float down from the tops of buildings effortlessly takes away from the thrill of these otherwise expertly choreographed battles. The most outrageous of these takes place atop a forrest of trees, balancing on small twigs. The rest of the story is nothing special, involving theft and the usual love theme that is so common today. In the end, this would be a good film to have on DVD so you could skip right to the fight scenes, although the more expensive DVD price would be a questionable purchase. I took my dad to see it using my free tickets I get from working at the theater, and we both agreed that if we would have paid $7.50 to see it, we would have been upset. If you want to see it, catch a cheap matinee.

Top of the Top in contemporary kung-fu cinematography. Excellent blend of legend, fighting and romance with perfectionist special effects.
