Now this is an original movie. I even dare to say it´s the most original piece of work i´ve ever seen. The story is about a man names Leonard, played by Guy Pierce, who can´t form any new memories, he writes down everything to later remember it. And the main story is that he is trying to find the man who raped and killed his wife, but that´s not an easy thing to do in his condition.
Now, this doesn´t sound THAT original, but the thing is... It´s told backwards. The movie beginns at the end and ends in "The Beginning". This makes the viewer feel like the character, that he doesn´t know anything of what hapened earlier. To help him he has got his "Friend" called Teddy who is pretty mysterious. This way the movie demands your attention at all time, or else you will be very very confused. You realy have to get your brain working at all times. The script (Written by Jonathan Nolan) is as I said very original and very good. The directing (By his brother Christopher Nolan(Batman Begins, The Prestige)) Can seem a little flat at times, but it realy adds to the story. The actingisn´t anything special but the characters are believably played. If you haven´t seen Memento, or have a math test tomorrow, you should realy check this out. Because it realy gets your brain working.

I have always been a fan of psychological thrillers, a movie that involves the viewer and keeps them in the movie. A friend had recommened Memento and i was was very pleased with the film. The main character Leonard has no short term memory, but he is trying to solve the mystery of his wife's death. As you can imagine this might prove difficult, and as viewers we can understand that because the movie is told chonologically backwards, so as things happen, both Leonard and the viewer does not know how he got there or why he is doing that. The only way Leonard can keep track of what he has done and what he is supposed to do is take pictures and write himself notes. As the film progresses, we see why he wrote the notes. With every segment he understand more the mystery.

The movie may be confusing if you don't pay attention, but i can say that i was never bored. I was constantly intruiged by numerous twists and discoveries. i can guarantee that you will be amazed at the ending twist.

Original, complex and thrilling. It breaks all the structures in film making. The characters are very interesting, specially Joe Pantoliano's Teddy Gammell. The end is not predictable and unique. Not only worth watching, but also worth owning.

Completely worth watching. The "gimmick" is that teh movie is told backwards and helps the viewer to related with the main character. As you adapt to this unique viewing experience, you begin to ask "Why did this happen?" with each scene and have it answered in the follow scene. If told correctly, the story is average at best. But this interesting way of story telling certainly makes the moive entertaining and fun from end to beginning.
