The notorious bandit El Indio breaks out of jail and returns to his gang, and a big reward is offered for him dead or alive. Two bounty-hunters, Colonel Douglas Mortimer and the Man with no name, set out separately to get Indio. After facing each other down, they agree to work together, but Mortimer has a particular reason for wanting Indio dead. It has something to do with his musical watch... in a spine-chilling moment near the end, the watch-spring runs out, its music stops, and then its twin chimes in.
