The Novel "The Sicilian" by Mario Puzo is an amazing piece of work, while it doesn´t top things like The Godfather the sequel is a great read. When I had the chanceto see The Sicilian (movie) I didn´t know if I wanted to see it since it would maybe destroy the greatness of the novel... I can´t sayI´m happy I did. What is bad about The Sicilian? Well, probaly everything.The acting most noticably is horrible. Why did they pick Lambert? Why? The only actor that is watchable is John Turturro who plays Pisciotta. The directing is bad as welland doesn´t give the movie the right feel. The script is awfull, skipping a lot of important scenes from the book. The characters doesn´t speek Italian, not any italian accent... They don´t even look Italian! One thing is good and that is that they skip the Michael Corleone part of the novel, because who would play him?
The Sicilian is a flat and awfull movie. And I warn anyone who´ve read andliked the novel not to watch this movie.
