Virginia Wainwright is a member of the exclusive "Top Ten" at the prestigious Crawford Academy. As her birthday nears, she begins having mysterious flashbacks of an accident that killed her mother Estelle. Then she is plagued by strange blackouts, only to find that her friends in the "Top Ten" are disappearing one by one. Virginia is soon being driven mad, and by the time her birthday arrives, she finds that the party guests are being cut instead of the cake.
