"Holiday" is a fine example of old Hollywood gems. Though not nearly as famous as "The Philadelphia Story," which teamed Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant together again, "Holiday" is superb in its own sense. It's fun, witty, romantic, and endearing. Grant and Hepburn have never been better--both are visibly having a blast. The multitalented Grant gives an air of spontaneity to his lines; his circus training is also highlighted in some of the most amusing parts of the film. Hepburn, as the "black sheep" of the family, abandones her usual regal roles to take on a character that is strong, independent, quick-witted, stunning, and loveable. You find yourself rooting desperately for Hepburn and Grant as a couple, rather than Grant and Doris Nolan as Grant's original love interest. "Holiday" is a joy to watch, and we are once again reminded of the immense talent that Grant and Hepburn both fully possessed.
