The movie that inspired the television show, and one of Robert Altman's most well-known films, M*A*S*H is an excellent movie. Elliot Gould and Donald Sutherland are excellent together, and in most of the scenes, I think Elliot Gould outshines Donald Sutherland, especially when the two goto Japan. There isn't a linear storyline, but Altman does a magnificent job navigating his way through the M*A*S*H unit. The non-linear storyline doesn't bother me, but I could understand how it could offset some people, wanting a Beginning-Middle-End of a movie, but I really liked the short stories, instead of being a big sweeping movie about this unit, plus added to the fact that all the stories mesh together really well, and the should ease people who don't like the non-linear approach of the film. 10/10.

Classic comedy, Altman creates a hysterical world of doctors, nurses, and soldiers. Donald Sutherland does a wonderful job as Captain "Hawkeye" Pierce. The movie is hilarious even if the subject matter is a bit off-beat (i.e. suicide, blackmail, sex, and more sex). This movie is a gem!
